Nutrition Services

Congregate Meals

Community Services provides several nutrition services for adults 60+ years of age residing within the Oregon Trail School District (excluding Hoodland).

meals on wheels

The Meals on Wheels program is a partnership with Clackamas County and the City of Sandy and is operated out of the Sandy Community/Senior Center. A hot nutritional balanced meal serves homebound adults who might not otherwise have access to a nutritious daily meal.

Meals on Wheels helps link housebound adults to other services and the world outside their door. Meals on Wheels can be the primary reason an older or disabled adult can continue to live independently, with dignity and at home. For more information about this essential services please contact Client Services Coordinator, Caroleana Smallwood at csmallwood@ci.sandy.or.us or 503-489-2154.

Congregate meals are currently suspended but we are working to bring them back soon!

animeals

FIDO (FRIENDS INVOLVED IN DOG OUTREACH) provides nutritious pet food for cats and dogs of people who receive home delivered meals who need assistance feeding their pets.  Animeals (kibbles & bits) are delivered to Meals on Wheels clients every other week.  Pet companions are important to our seniors and sometimes feeding them can be a hardship.  Healthy pets make happy Meals on Wheels clients.

We gladly accept donations of unopened Dog and Cat Food at the Sandy Community/Senior Center and all donations go to Clackamas County Animals.
