Welcome to The Drop In at Cedar Park — Cedar Park's (Featuring Basecamp) first-ever Skate & Bike Competition and Community Celebration.
More than just a competition, The Drop In is a full weekend experience bringing together riders, skaters, families, and the broader community for an exciting celebration of sport, energy, and connection.
Held at Cedar Park in Sandy, Oregon on August 22–23 from 10 a.m.–6 p.m., this inaugural event will showcase high-level skate and bike competition while also transforming the park into a vibrant community gathering space. Spectators can watch some of the region’s most skilled riders put their abilities to the test, while participants push themselves in a high-energy, judged environment designed for experienced athletes.
Beyond the competition, The Drop In will feature a variety of local, regional, and national vendor booths, offering giveaways, samples, and special deals for attendees. Families can enjoy kids’ activities, interactive experiences, and community-focused programming designed to make the event welcoming for all ages.

Skate Competition:
The Drop-In is a competitive, judged event designed for experienced and advanced riders. Participants should be comfortable skating in a high-energy environment, performing tricks on park features, and riding alongside others during jam-style formats. While all are welcome to attend and enjoy the event, this competition is best suited for those with a strong skill foundation and prior skatepark experience.
Event Format
Day 1 – Saturday, August 22: Qualifying Rounds
Skaters will compete in age and gender-based heats:
- Male Youth 12–17
- Male 18–29
- Male 30+
- Female Youth 12–17
- Female 18–29
- Female 30+
Day 1 will feature a judged Open Jam Session format.
What is a Jam Session?
A jam session is a high-energy, group-style competition where multiple skaters ride at the same time for a set period. Judges evaluate overall performance, including style, difficulty, creativity, flow, and consistency. Skaters are encouraged to take multiple runs, showcase their best tricks, and build off the energy of the group.
Advancement to Finals:
- Male Youth 12–17: Top 4 advance
- Female Youth 12–17: Top 4 advance
- Female 18–29: Top 4 advance
- Male 18–29: Top 8 advance
- Male 30+: Top 8 advance
- Female 30+: Top 4 advance
Day 2 – Sunday, August 23: Finals
Finalists will compete in a more structured format:
- Each skater will have 2 individual runs
- Each run is 1 minute, timed and judged
- Best overall performance determines final placement
Awards & Prizes
- Youth Divisions (12–17): Awards and prizes for top finishers
- All Other Divisions: Awards plus a $300 cash prize
Bike Competition:
The Drop-In Bike Competition is a competitive timed event designed for experienced and advanced riders. Participants should be comfortable riding technical features at speed, maintaining control on a timed course, and performing in a high-energy competition setting. Both the qualifying and finals courses will feature jump lines and aerial elements, and riders should be confident and comfortable performing on these features. While all are welcome to attend and enjoy the event, this competition is best suited for riders with a strong skill foundation and prior bike park or pump track experience.
Event Format
Day 1 – Saturday, August 22: Qualifying Rounds
Riders will compete in age and gender-based heats:
- Male Youth 12–17
- Male 18–29
- Male 30+
- Female Youth 12–17
- Female 18–29
- Female 30+
Day 1 will feature a timed run qualifying format.
How Qualifying Works:
Each rider will complete 2 timed runs on the designated course (approximately 30 seconds in length). Riders will compete in heat groups, with each rider taking their run individually while others in the heat cycle through.
- All riders complete their first run
- Heats reset and repeat for a second run
- Best time from the two runs counts toward placement
Advancement to Finals:
- Male Youth 12–17: Top 4 advance
- Female Youth 12–17: Top 4 advance
- Male 18–29: Top 8 advance
- Female 18–29: Top 8 advance
- Male 30+: Top 8 advance
- Female 30+: Top 6 advance
Day 2 – Sunday, August 23: Finals
Finalists will compete on an extended 45-second finals course designed to test speed, control, and consistency.
- Each rider will complete 2 timed runs
- Runs will be individually timed on the finals course
- Fastest time overall determines final placement
Riders are encouraged to push for speed while maintaining clean, controlled runs—mistakes or crashes may impact overall time and placement.

All Other Divisions: Awards plus a $300 cash prize (first place rider in adult division)
