At 11:00 am, we are honored to have Pat Schwieber as our guest speaker. Pat is a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience in bereavement care, serving as a nurse, educator, and counselor. She co-founded support groups such as Compassionate Friends, Brief Encounters, Parents of Murdered Children, and Suicide Bereavement. Pat is also the author of several books, including "When Hello Means Goodbye: A Guide for Parents Whose Babies Have Died," "Tear Soup: A Recipe for Healing After Loss," "We Were Gonna Have a Baby But We Had an Angel Instead," and "Someone Came Before You."  Established in 1992, Brief Encounters is a non-profit, non-sectarian support group for parents who have experienced the loss of their babies before, during, or after birth. Through informal and mutually supportive meetings, bereaved parents and their families share stories, discuss issues related to pregnancy and infant loss, and honor the memory of their children. By participating in discussions or simply listening, attendees gain insights into grief and learn how to heal through understanding and compassion.
