Urban Renewal Plan and Programs

The City of Sandy is proud of its downtown. The 3/4 mile stretch between Bluff Road and Ten Eyck Road is the heart of the city and offers shopping, dining and entertainment. Sandy's downtown is also home to a variety of City services including City Hall, Sandy Fire and the Sandy Police Department, Sandy Public Library and the Sandy Community & Senior Center. Because downtown Sandy is a valuable asset to our community, the City has undertaken several urban renewal projects to increase the prosperity of the community by enabling an economically viable and vibrant city.

Streets

Right of Way Permit
All work in the right-of-way of City streets requires a street opening permit.

Neighborhood Traffic Management Program
As the City grows, neighborhood concerns about traffic are increasing. The City tries to incorporate "traffic calming" features into new street projects and retrofit them into existing streets.

The City also has a program in place to deal with these concerns.

Right of Way Permits

Permits are required for any work in the public right-of-way of City streets. Work in the right-of-way of Hwy 26 requires a permit from ODOT (Oregon Department of Transportation). The exception is that portion of eastbound Hwy 26 (Pioneer Blvd.) between Bluff Rd. and Ten Eyck ‘behind’ the curb line; a permit from the City is required in this area, ODOT permits are required for any work between the curb lines.

Sandy Base Maps

The City of Sandy, in cooperation with the Clackamas County GIS Department, maintains GIS (Geographic Information System) data of City utilities and Planning Data.

Snow and Ice

Arterial and collector streets and hills (Dubarko, Tupper, Bluff, Meinig, etc.) are given first priority for plowing and sanding.  Click here to learn more about plowing and reporting hazards.
