Transit Tax

Sandy’s public transit system is primarily supported by a local business tax per Ordinance No. 99-03. The business transit tax is assessed on all businesses operating within Sandy city limits and is an employer-paid tax.

Park and Rides

  1. City of Sandy Ops Center Industrial and Champion Way. Located across the street from the cinema.
  2. Church of Christ Pioneer Blvd and Wolf Dr. Use only west side of lot.
  3. Pioneer Parking Lot Pioneer Blvd and Bruns Ave. Use the City lot behind Otto’s Ski Shop.
  4. Pioneer Parking Lot 2 39050 Pioneer Blvd. 

​(No transit parking at the Sandy Historical Museum).

Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in helping out at the Sandy and Hoodland Public Libraries?  We are seeking volunteers aged 14 and up to help with special events, book processing and repair, children's events and various other projects.  The amount of involvement is up to you!  Monthly or weekly tasks available, a six month commitment is appreciated.

About SAM

SAM operates under the City of Sandy's Transit Department.  MV Transportation provides Sandy Transit’s operations services under contract with the City. The City is responsible for administration, program management, budgeting, fiscal control, public relations, marketing, fleet maintenance, service scheduling, monitoring, evaluation and planning.
