Attention Business Owners: New Business License Updates Now in Effect

Subject: New City of Sandy Business License Applications Portal

To Whom It May Concern:

The City of Sandy is excited to announce a new online Business License Portal that will simplify the renewal of your annual license. This new system will also help business owners that have lost a printout of their license and need to print a copy at their own convenience. 

After multiple decades without a fee increase, the City Council approved changes in order to update and modernize our legacy application and renewal process to create a more streamlined online user-friendly system.

The City of Sandy has moved all Business Licensing online to licenseregistrar.com. This service allows for business owners to submit and pay license fees online by using the licenseregistrar.com web application.

To use the new web application for both renewals and new applications, please go to https://licenseregistrar.com and create a new account (renewal or new). Once you’ve logged in, you can create your new business license account to submit to the City of Sandy for approval. After payment has been processed and the application is submitted, City staff will then review your application for completeness. If any necessary corrections are needed, City staff will respond through the licenseregistrar.com web application.

Moving forward, renewal notifications will be sent to your email on file and hard copies will no longer be sent in the mail. Similarly, licenses will no longer be sent in the mail. You will now be able to quickly and conveniently print your own license.

Please start your business license renewal today by going to https://licenseregistrar.com and create a new account. Once you create a new account, you will notice a new and different business license number from the four-digit number the City previously assigned you. Please note that business license fees have been modified, and simplified to the four following categories (see Rental Licensing fees further down):

In City Business                  = $  85.00
Out of City Business          = $115.00
Home Based Business      = $  50.00

For Residential Rental Properties, the City is using a similar service at https://rentalregistrar.com It is also provided by Net Assets and is suited for Rental Properties. If you own a rental property within the City of Sandy you are required to register it at https://rentalregistrar.com. The fees for Rental Properties are:
 

Rentals (Residential)    = $ 85.00 + 6.00 per unit
