SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Small nonfarm businesses in four Oregon counties and neighboring counties in Washington are now eligible to apply for low‑interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, announced Director Tanya N. Garfield of SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West. These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought in the following primary county that began July 6, 2021.

The last 15 months have been an extraordinarily difficult time for businesses throughout Oregon. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Sandy made a policy decision to not enforce our rules regarding signage and temporary structures. We felt that businesses were having a hard enough time keeping their doors open during this unprecedented period and wanted to provide assistance in any way we could. Now, as Oregon begins to take the steps necessary to lift COVID-19 restrictions and re-open our economy, the time is approaching for us to begin enforcing our municipal code once again.
