City Signage and Temporary Structure Regulations for Business Returning to Pre-Pandemic Rules on September 1

Signage

The last 15 months have been an extraordinarily difficult time for businesses throughout Oregon.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Sandy made a policy decision to not enforce our rules regarding signage and temporary structures.  We felt that businesses were having a hard enough time keeping their doors open during this unprecedented period and wanted to provide assistance in any way we could.  Now, as Oregon begins to take the steps necessary to lift COVID-19 restrictions and re-open our economy, the time is approaching for us to begin enforcing our municipal code once again.

We will send a letter out shortly to affected businesses throughout the City.  The contents of this letter will give businesses general information regarding our normal municipal code requirements where they relate to commercial signage and temporary covered structures, as well as contact persons for those businesses that may have questions.  The City of Sandy will give businesses a grace period until September 1, 2021, to come into compliance with these rules.
