Library Advisory Board Application

The City of Sandy is now accepting applications to fill one seat on the Library Advisory Board.

The open seat is for residents of the Unincorporated Sandy Service Area only.

The purpose of the Library Advisory Board is to advise the Library Director and City Council on the development of library services, programs, and facilities to meet needs of the Sandy and Hoodland Library Service Areas.

The deadline to submit applications is Monday, November 24th, 2025 at 5:00 PM.

All applicants are requested to attend a 'meet & greet' session with the City Council on Monday December 1, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Sandy City Hall - 39250 Pioneer Blvd. This will be an opportunity for City Council members to meet and get to know applicants in an informal setting, before appointment decisions are made at the following City Council meeting on December 15th.

As you may know, the Hoodland Library is a small branch with limited resources. With that in mind, how would you advocate for the library’s needs and priorities? *

The Sandy and Hoodland Libraries will soon have another branch - the Mobile Library. In your opinion, how should we use this new vehicle to effectively provide library services for specific groups, such as the elderly or those in institutional settings? *

What kind of Library resources have you utilized? *

Are you available to meet once a month for a Board meeting? (meetings typically begin at 6:00 PM and occur on a weeknight) *
