The City of Sandy is now accepting applications to fill 2 positions on the Planning Commission.  The deadline to submit applications is Monday, November 24, 2025 at 5:00 PM.

The Planning Commission advises the City Council on long-range and land use issues within city limits and the urban growth boundary.  The Planning Commission is also involved with updates to the Comprehensive Plan, recommends policy direction with regard to land use rules and regulations, and helps City staff ensure that Sandy is working within the framework of the State of Oregon's stated land use goals. Planning Commissioners in accordance with ORS 244.050 will be responsible for filing an annual statement of economic interest with the the Government Standards and Practices Commission. 

 

Membership Requirements

Per the Sandy Municipal Code, the Planning Commission shall consist of seven members, at least five of whom shall be city residents. The other two members may be residents or may consist of the following:

A.  An owner and operator of a business located within the city limits, provided such owner and operator is a resident of Clackamas County or that portion of Multnomah County east of 181st Street, Portland, Oregon;

B.  A resident within the city's urban growth boundary but outside city limits. 

 

Meet & Greet

All applicants are requested to attend a 'meet and greet' session with the City Council on Monday December 1, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Sandy City Hall - 39250 Pioneer Blvd. This will be an opportunity for City Council members to meet and get to know applicants in an informal setting, before appointment decisions are made at the following City Council meeting on the 15th of December.
