Envision Sandy 2050 (Comprehensive Plan)

On February 20, 2020, the City Council adopted a Council goal to initiate an update of the City's Comprehensive Plan which was created in 1997. This goal included a plan to review options and approve an implementation strategy to update the Comprehensive Plan. Over the following year, staff worked on identifying a schedule, forming a budget, applying for grants, and other miscellaneous tasks associated with initiating an update to the Comprehensive Plan.

PGE Public Safety Power Shutoff

Due to extreme fire danger conditions, PGE initiated a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in the Sandy area (including a small area within city limits) in the early morning hours of Friday 9/9/22.

Construction Underway on 362nd / Bell Extension

Construction is now officially underway on Sandy's most significant road construction project in recent years: the connection of 362nd Avenue and Bell Street west of Sandy High School!

Mayor Pulliam noted the importance of this milestone at the groundbreaking ceremony on June 29th:

The City of Sandy (City) is soliciting statements of interest and qualifications information from consulting engineering firms to develop an update and amendment to the City of Sandy 2019 Wastewater System Facilities Master Plan, in addition to biosolids management, recycled water and related planning and design services.
