Code Enforcement - Signs

Signs

The City of Sandy has a comprehensive set of rules in the Sandy Municipal Code regarding the posting of signs.  It is best to check with the City's permit technician prior to posting your sign to make sure you comply with the code.  View the contact information for the City's permit technician.

It is illegal to attach any sign to utility poles or street posts.  An illegally posted sign may result in a $500 fine per day for as long as the sign remains posted.

Freestanding garage sale signs are available at Sandy City Hall for minimal cost.  Please ask the front counter staff at City Hall for more information.

House and Address Numbers

Homes and businesses are required to display a clearly visible address number at all times.  According to the Sandy Municipal Code, the minimum size requirement for address number numerals is 4 inches.  Any delay caused by lack of proper, visible addressing could mean the difference between life and death in an emergency.  Good, visible addressing also helps visitors, delivery drivers and service providers locate you more easily.
