This is small procurement under ORS 279B.065 or an intermediate procurement under ORS 279B.070. Selection will be made from responsive proposals that will best serve the interests of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals. The anticipated contract price for this project is less than $60,000. Oregon BOLI prevailing wage rates required by ORS 279C.800 to 279C.870 do not apply to this project.
Removal - Demolish, remove, and properly dispose of concrete sidewalks (nominal 4” thickness) and driveway approaches (nominal 6” thickness) on sites identified above. Provide traffic control, flagging, and advance warning signs as needed. Protect work areas with barricades, caution tape, or other suitable warning devices until concrete is poured.
NOTE: It is expected that all sidewalk demolition areas will be 4” nominal thickness. If sidewalk thickness is 6” or less no additional payment will be made. If the sidewalk thickness is greater than 6” over 50% of the area removed at any one site or panel additional compensation will be negotiated.
It is expected that all driveway approach demolition areas will be 6” nominal thickness. If driveway approach thickness is 8” or less no additional payment will be made. If driveway approach thickness is greater than 8” over 50% of the area removed at any one site or panel additional compensation will be negotiated.
Pouring and Finishing - Prep, form, pour, and finish new concrete sidewalk or driveway approaches in areas previously demolished. Grade or level existing crushed rock base and compact with mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment to provide minimum 2” crushed rock compacted thickness.
Trim or cut tree roots that interfere with forming or concrete placement. Excavate to expose the entire root (including underside of root). Make a clean cut with a sharp saw. Some trees may need to be removed and replaced under a separate contract.
Place forms to match existing sidewalk or curb grade. Forms shall be securely staked or pinned to contain concrete until cured.
Provide light broom finish perpendicular to direction of travel, ‘shine’ all joints and edges. Protect fresh pours from weather and vandalism as appropriate. Strip all forms, backfill adjacent to new work, and cleanup/restore all work areas to pre-work condition.
NOTE: It is expected that all existing sidewalks and driveway approaches will have 2” of crushed rock beneath the existing concrete. If additional crushed rock is required to provide the minimum 2” compacted thickness it shall be considered incidental to the work and no additional compensation will be allowed. If there are soft spots or large voids beneath existing sidewalks and driveway approaches requiring more than a 2” thickness of crushed rock to bring up to grade additional compensation will be negotiated.
