How to Apply

Thank you for you interested in working for the City of Sandy.  If the City has any current open positions, it would be posted under Current Job Openings.  It is required to complete an on-line application along with providing a cover letter and resume in PDF format. Those documents that can be uploaded during the on-line application process.  If you are claiming veterans preference, there will also be an area for you to upload your DD214 .

Selection

The City of Sandy reviews all applications submitted by the closing date for advertised openings.  If a position is open until filled, it may be that the position is filled prior to your application being reviewed.  All applications are reviewed and successful candidates are selected based on the applicants' relevant knowledge, skills and abilities.  Those selected for further consideration will be invited to an interview.  Prior to hiring the successful candidate, the candidate will be asked to complete a release and pass a criminal history background and driving record check prior to employment.  Depending on the position, you may also be required to passing a drug test and DOT physical.  

Notification

After you successfully complete the on-line application, you will receive a notification of receipt. We make every effort to notify all candidates of their application status either by; email, mail or telephone within two weeks of the closing date of the position.  If it is an open until filled, we will also notify you once your application has been reviewed. Veterans Preference Statement

Qualifying veterans may obtain preference by submitting as verification of eligibility a copy of the Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214 or 215) or a letter from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs indicating receipt of a non-service connected pension. Veterans' Preference documentation must be submitted with your application.
