Oregon Transportation ReInvestment Package (TRIP) 2025

Testify on June 11, 2025

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Oregon State Capitol-Joint Committee on Transportation Hearing Room F

901 State St.

Salem, OR 97301

The amount of funding for transit proposed in the transportation plan is not enough. Unless state funding for transit is increased, public transportation providers across Oregon will be forced to make significant cuts to service.

Share your story, speak up for better service, and help shape a healthier, more connected Oregon. We need your voice to ensure continued investment in a multimodal transportation system that supports:

  • Maintaining and expanding transit service levels
  • Expanding Youth Pass and Veteran Pass programs
  • Developing rural transit options
  • Supporting safe, low-emission transportation
  • Increasing the payroll tax by just 0.08% to fund these vital services

There are 3 options for you to participate.

1.  In-person testimony is most effective.

2.  Virtual testimony.
Share how you/your community relies on transit, and what would happen if your transit service were taken away.

3.  Written testimony. Go to https://geo.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/lookup/index.html?appid=fd070b56c975456ea2a25f7e3f4289d1 to submit testimony.

Contact Muna Rustam at 503.489.0921 for more information.

*Date to testify virtually and in-person is tentative and may change. Written testimony can be submitted anytime before the voting deadline.

Sandy's transit department offers several transportation options. These services are designed to accommodate varying levels of accessibility in an integrated transit system. Every effort is made to make the Gresham Clackamas and Estacada commuter routes (also called fixed route service) accessible and user friendly. We have low-floor vehicles and offer transit training excursions that combine adventure with learning to use the region's transit system. Sandy employs professional dispatch and driving staff who undergo sensitivity training. Sandy Transit works with other city departments such as Planning and Public Works to include curb cuts and braille strips at all intersections along our fixed route.

Our fixed routes are supported with a demand-response service for door-to-door trips as needed to get to local services. This service also acts as a feeder service to the fixed route. We also offer a free shuttle that provides transportation to local shopping. A higher need of assistance requiring door-to-door service for medical appointments outside of the service area is also available for qualified individuals.

Sandy Transit has adopted the Oregon Department of Transportation's DBE goal of 8% for fiscal years 2024-2025. To view our plans for the future please review the Sandy Transit Master Plan and the Operations Center Master Plan in Supporting Documents below.

The Sandy Transit Center is located on Hoffman Street between Proctor Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard. SAM's fixed route commuter services operate from the transit center. See the schedule for details.

SAM is free in town! See our Fares page for out of town, SAM rides and ED fares.
