The Municipal Court is the judicial branch of the City of Sandy government. The Court has jurisdiction over the City and State of Oregon traffic offenses committed within city limits, as well as Municipal Code violations. The City has contracted with Judge Karen Brisbin to provide judicial services.
Sandy's Municipal Court is held in Council Chambers at Sandy City Hall. Court is typically held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, beginning at 1:00 pm. Specific court dates can be found on tickets and citations.
Traffic Citations: It is your responsibility to resolve the citation on of before your scheduled appearance date.
License Reinstatement: Please contact the Court Clerk for specific information regarding reinstatement.
Unless a mandatory court appearance is required, you can enter a plea with a clerk before your first appearance arraignment date.
If you would like an opportunity to appear before the Judge, the Court Clerk can reschedule your appearance.
If your violation is one that requires a judicial appearance, a reschedule notification will be mailed to you at your DMV address of record, advising you of the date and time to appear.
Failure to Appear: If you do not appear before the Judge on your scheduled appearance date, you may be subject to a Failure to Appear (FTA) fee.
Rescheduling Appearances: If you fail to appear on your scheduled court date, you will not be allowed to reschedule, unless documentation of a medical emergency is provided to the Court.
The Court offers multiple ways to pay your court fees. Please be aware that billing reminders or statements are not a Court service. It is your responsibility to pay your citation on time. Failure to pay your citation on time will result in the suspension of your driving privileges and collection action will be taken.
