We know many members of the Sandy community have questions about the COVID-19 (coronavirus) disease. The City will use this page to provide updates, information, and resources as this situation progresses.
The City is continuing to monitor information from our local, state, and federal public health officials and are following their directives and recommendations. In addition to increasing the frequency of cleaning and sterilization procedures throughout all City facilities, all non-essential public meetings, programs, and events have either been postponed or canceled in efforts to promote recommended social distancing.

Governor's 'Reopening Oregon' Plan
In the interest of community safety and in observance of state-issued emergency measures, the following precautions continue to be in effect as the City transitions into a gradual reopening process:
The Sandy Community Center / Senior Center is closed to the public (along with all programs, activities, and rentals) until further notice. Meals on Wheels will continue to operate during the closure.
Sandy and Hoodland Public Library facilities are anticipated to reopen to the public when the county enters Phase 2 and when safety measures are in place including protective barriers. Limited curbside service will continue to be available while facilities remain closed: learn more here! Longest Day Parkway 2020 has been cancelled. The City may schedule an alternative event later in the year, depending on circumstances.
The City has ceased issuing block party permits until further notice.

Oregon State Police has released information explaining law enforcement's approach to enforcing the Governor's executive order. Take a look at their fact sheet.
The main point: "All Oregon law enforcement are united on the premise that police action is extremely undesirable and we hope to educate Oregonians if congregating in violation of the Governor’s Order. Citation or arrest would be an extreme last resort if a person failed to comply with the lawful direction of a police officer."
