Sandy Police officers are responsible for criminal interdiction, investigations, traffic enforcement, and school resource services. Community Services Officers focus on homeless outreach, city code enforcement, and animal control.

In addition to the Chief of Police, the department is staffed by one Lieutenant, three Sergeants, eight Patrol Officers, one Detective, one Traffic Officer, and two School Resource Officers. Support staff includes one Records Manager and two Records Specialists.

Patrol officers provide service to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
