|Ace Hardware (2010 Facade Program project)|
The City of Sandy Façade Improvement Program is a matching grant program funded by the Sandy Urban Renewal Agency, and was approved by the Urban Renewal Board in May 2009. This program sets aside a portion of the City's urban renewal funds to assist building owners with upgrades to their buildings designed to incorporate Sandy Style elements to buildings that were built prior to the addition of these design standards to Sandy's building code. Specific details regarding these Cascadian building design standards can be found in the Sandy Development Code, Chapter 17.90 .
Program funds may be used for existing exterior façade improvements on any commercial buildings within the urban renewal zone in Sandy. For the purposes of this program, “façade” includes the exterior of any street facing building wall, but does not include the following elements: building interior, roofing, structural improvements, signage or other site improvements as listed in the program guidelines below.
The list of grant projects since 2009 includes the following buildings:
|Ace Hardware||La Bamba Mexican Restaurant||Sandy Fire #72 (2018 completion)|
|AEC Building||Mattress World||Sandy Liquor|
|AntFarm Cafe||Muff Building (Sandy Tire)||Sandy Lumberyard Building|
