The City Manager is appointed by the City Council, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the city government. Specifics regarding the City Manager’s duties are outlined in
Chapter 2.08 of the Sandy Municipal Code
Kim was appointed by the council to the position of City Manager in May of 2017. Prior to becoming City Manager, she was appointed as Interim City Manager in January of 2017, having priviously held the position of Chief of Police with the City of Sandy for the last 7 years. After her appointment she offically retired from police service after 24 years in Law Enforcement serving the communities of Sandy, Oregon, Vancouver, Washington and Washougal, Washington. Prior to her career in Law Enforcement, she was in the United States Air Force where she served in several locations including Desert Storm.
