Job Description:  

Operates heavy to medium duty, small and paratransit buses in a professional manner that ensures all passengers experience a safe and comfortable ride. Follows the guidelines and continuously practices the Agency’s system of Driver operating standards for performance.
Operate vehicles safely along defined point-deviated fixed routes within the timeframe of an assigned route’s printed timetable. Also provides curb-to-curb transportation service within specific service areas.

 

Interact with senior citizens, disabled residents, and the general public in a manner that demonstrates compassion and commitment to their specific needs. Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking from vehicles, including safe placement of passengers in mobility devices.
Respond to passenger requests for information about RoJoy Services (RJS) Community Transportation services.


Clearly and accurately record and submit passenger statistical data, odometer mileage, travel time, fares, and pass sales transactions. Ensure sales transactions are accurate.
Conduct thorough pre and post-trip vehicle inspections. Record any physical damage, malfunctions, and suspected mechanical problems. Clearly and accurately complete proper forms.
Prepare accident and incident reports. May need to interview passengers or other witnesses to obtain information.


Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all RJS operations, policies and procedures. Promptly report any safety hazards and handbook violations. Attend and participate in RJS Safety Team meetings.


Maintain security of vehicles, fares, vaults, passes and gas cards.
Inspects physical facilities such as designated bus stops for cleanliness, safety, appearance and either fix or report problems.


Use two-way radio to maintain contact with RJS facility and to report any problems.


 

Job Requirements

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent

Required experience:

  • Driving: 2 years

Required license or certification:

  • CDL Class B w/Passenger Endorsement
