Come and hear Barbara Virgilio, MSW from Mt. Hood Hospice share about care options for end of life.

Barbara earned BA degrees in sociology and philosophy with a Certificate in Gerontology from Oregon State University in 1994.  She worked as a social services director in two nursing facilities, then as a Senior Advocate at Portland Impact providing in-home case management for seniors.  Barbara then attended Portland State University earning her Master of Social Work in 2004.  Following graduate school, she worked for three years for Legacy Health as a social worker, primarily involved with discharge planning, often arranging for a patient’s move to a new care setting.  Barbara began working for Mt. Hood Hospice in February of 2007.  She often assists families in deciding about whether or where to move their loved ones when needed.  Working with seniors for 20 years in a variety of circumstances has given Barbara a broad knowledge base regarding senior housing options.
