Town hall on ‘Natural Resources’ set for Oct. 28 in Welches

Clackamas County Commissioners will hold a town hall meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Resort at the Mountain in Welches starting at 6 p.m. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The theme of this town hall is “Honoring, Utilizing, Promoting and Investing in our Natural Resources.” Commissioners will focus on the county’s efforts in this area and citizens are urged to voice related questions, concerns and comments.

Related issues may include:

  • Willamette Falls: Clackamas County is involved in the Willamette Falls Legacy Project, Willamette Falls Locks, and Willamette Falls Heritage Area designation. Town hall attendees can find out about the actions commissioners are taking regarding each of these.
  • Watershed Protection: The county coordinates and partners on several watershed and river protection programs, including rain garden promotion, youth education projects, and the Clackamas River Enforcement & Ecology Workgroup.
  • Forestry: The county manages thousands of acres of forestland and utilizes sustainable management practices such as scheduled timber harvesting and reforestation.

This is an opportunity to ask questions directly to Clackamas County Commissioners. Attendees are free to pose questions on any topic at the event.

This “Honoring, Utilizing, Promoting and Investing in our Natural Resources” theme is a priority of Performance Clackamas, a strategic plan previously adopted by the county.

The Resort at the Mountain is located at 68010 East Fairview Ave. in Welches, one of the communities that make up the Villages at Mt. Hood. The town hall will be held in the Lolo Pass Room.
