Kids Library Programs


Read to the Dog

Kids learning to read can practice their skills every Thursday from 4-5pm in the Kids' area of the Sandy Public Library. Reading to a dog will help struggling kids gain confidence in their reading abilities in a no-stress non-judgemental environment.  Stop into the library or Call 503-668-5537 to make a 15 minute appt for your child.

Saturday Afternoon Kids Club 

LEGO menSaturday from 2-4pm Appropriate for kids aged 7-12.

Sandy Public Library

1st Saturday of each month: LEGO Club

2nd Saturday of each month: Board Games

3rd Saturday of each month: Art Club

4th Saturday of each month: Minecraft, and Wii Video Games

Hoodland Library

2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 1-3pm: LEGO Club.  Hoodland LEGO CLub is appropriate for kids aged 4-12.

NEW! 3rd Saturday of the month - Art Club

Donations of LEGOs, video games & gaming systems, board games, card games, or art supplies gratefully accepted. Drop off items at the Sandy or Hoodland Library.


Story Time

Join us for weekly Story Times.  Including playtime after Story Time so that you and your child can enjoy a whole hour of Story Time Fun!

Sandy Public Library Preschool Story Time - 10:00 am on Tuesday. For kids aged 3-5 years.

Baby Story Time at Sandy is Wednesday at 10:00 am. Appropriate for babies up to 1 year old.

Sandy Public Library Toddler Time -  10:00 am Thursday. For kids aged 1-2 years.

Hoodland Library Story Time - 10:30 am Thursday. Appropriate for all ages.
