  • Retail sales positions provided over one-quarter of jobs in Sandy in 2013.
  • Sandy businesses accounted for 2.3% of Clackamas County covered employment in 2013, with 316 businesses and 3,280 jobs.
  • Four of the largest broad industries made up over two-thirds (66%) of covered employment in Sandy. Retail sales was out front with 821 jobs followed by arts & entertainment/accommodation & food services(640 jobs); local government (369 jobs); and health care & social assistance (324 jobs).
  • From 2003-2013, the city gained 38 new businesses and added nearly 400 new jobs. At the industry sector level, there were both net losses and net gains in various industries. The majority of job gains were seen in retail trade; health care & social assistance; accommodations and food services; and federal government.
  • The majority of job losses occurred in wholesale trade; administrative, support & waste management; and construction.
